Rain, rain, rain
Tuesday, July 18th, 2006We’re right in the middle of the delayed 梅雨 (tsuyu), or rainy season here in Kobe. It’s been raining for two days straight, and according to the weather reports, it will continue to do so mor or less continuously for the coming week. For the first day or two it is quite nice, because the clouds and rain provide a nice change to the sweltering heat of the japanese summer. After that, though, the humidity begins. Everything gets humid, and there is little possibility of keeping it out of your house, unless you have a very good air conditioner and are willing to spend on the electricity bill. This is probably one of the major minuses with Japan - the weather. Sometimes I wish for a Swedish summer with barbecue, swimming, 25 degrees and no humidity. I would sacrifice a lot to get that. Maybe I would even drink Swedish beer… :-P
