Ok, I finally got my arse into gear and sat down to write a bit. Lots have been happening lately, not least of which that I started at my new job. It hasn’t been extremely hectic at work, but all that has surrounded it has taken its fair share of effort and time. So, me and Adri came back from Thailand about three weeks ago. Thailand was nice, although the density of scamming bastards in Bangkok made at least me a bit put off. In the end I was simply swearing at every tuk-tuk-driver that came up to us. We ended up using taxis instead, which means better price, less “experience”, slightly more time, and less frustration. Most taxi drivers ended upo being fairly honest, except when it came to going to and from the airport. Anyway… enough complaining.
Our first stop after the initial couple of days in Bangkok was Ko Samui. It is over-infested with tourists, but mainly on the big beaches like Chaweng and Lamai. We stayed at Bophut Beach, which was much calmer. It had Adri swearing at me in the beginning, but I think she also realized, with time, that we needed some calmness to rehabilitate us from the japanese everyday life. Ko Samui was basically just relaxation and beautiful weather.
Next stop was Krabi, or rather Ao Nang. Ao Nang itself wasn’t mycket att hänga i julgranen (swedish idiomatic expression, look it up…), but the whole point of being there is to have starting point for diving, snorkeling and beach day-trips. Lots of pictures available over at my flickr photostream. Right now I’m lazy, so I’ll just give you this one.
Makes me want to go back again. Here, the closest decent swimming place is Enoshima (江ノ島), just south-west of Yokohama, but the water there is all black from what I guess is volcanic sand-mud, especially when the surf is up…

So I’m not the only one with a lazy bone…. Cheers!
Definitely not :-) At least you have your epic article series from the States to fall back on…
