Arrived
Arrived in Paraguay. The trip was crazy long: Tokyo (NRT) to Dallas (DFW) took about 11 hours, followed by 5 hours of waiting (including 2 hours of very exciting queue-standing for immigration. Completely meaningless if you ask me, considering that we were just in transit). Dallas to Sao Paulo (GRU) took another 11 hours, followed by an exciting 12 hours of waiting. This time we got out of the airport though, meeting with Silas, the godfather (not in the mafioso way) of Carol, one of Adris brazilian friends. Spent some nice time with him in Guarulhos, the satellite city of SP where the airport is.
After Adri engaged in some fierce shouting matches with the airport staff, we managed to get our grossly oversized baggage (almost sixty kilos each - it was an adventure in itself to bring them to the airport) with us on the plane to Asuncion without paying extra. The latino spirit has its uses, for sure :-)
Well hehhhrhe in Asuncion it is pretty damn warm - whehhn (yes, thehh hhhhhh-key is messed up on the keyboard of this internet-cafe computer whehhre I am sitting. Cant be botherhhhehhhdhh hto fix it anymhhohre) we arrived in theh middle of theh night it was over 30 degrees warm…
Anyway, will let you know more as time goes. The plan is to go out to the Chaco plains on Tuesday, to try to see the Guanica, a near-extinct cousin of the llama, living on the plains close to the Bolivian border. A friend of Adris brother is a biologist, working out there, so we should have a good guide.

Björn din jävel. dra till varma breddgrader så där utan förvarning. Man blir ju nästan avis om det inte var för att jag ska hem och äta julskinka, sill o potatis. Och dricka nubbe så klart. God Jul!
